pictor® und vicosys® - direct communication with Siemens PLC S7-1200

Some electrical engineer simply enjoy the won space in their cabinet. Others, the reduced effort to wire all components.

These are the reason why Vision & Control focused their development on direct communication between the products pictor^® and vicosys^® with a SIEMENS PLC.

In reality, it was only a small step. You can directly connect a vision system with a PLC through a normal network switch. In SIEMENS TIA Development Enviromnet you add the already existing function "modbus TCP/Server".

Now, you can use the free field bus efficiently to exchange measurement values, control bits and serial numbers comparable to Profinet or Profibus.To access it, the vcwin programmer uses the existing "Process Module" - Command with a new option --- and that's it.

SIEMENS include this modbus/TCP-component for the actual series S7-1200 for free and installs it with the standard installation. So, any experienced PLC programmer can activate it within minutes.
