The integrated DLC server accelerates the setup of the lighting controller (DLC), making it safer and more efficient.
Users who use the Vision & Control image processing system vicosys® or the intelligent camera pictor® N with the lighting controller DLC3005 can use version 4.16.265 of the associated image processing software to control the lighting directly via the test program. The new "Lighting Control" function enables you to react automatically to changing test parts or different test scenarios. For example, the brightness of the illuminations can be quickly adapted to the surfaces of different test specimens. Free-running line scan camera applications can always be operated with the ideal amount of light with the same shutter. Scenes with several light sources can thus be optimally coordinated with each other.
Faster and more stable without Windows
The "Smart Light" lighting controller DLC3005 monitors all operating states of the connected lights online. Configured accordingly, it guarantees safe and trouble-free operation within the defined performance limits. This ensures stable lighting conditions and high reliability in industrial environments.
The lighting controller is set up and configured via the DLC server. A special program that has so far only run under Windows - with all the risks that this entails in terms of process security. Starting with BV software version 4.16.265, the DLC server now runs directly on the image processing system also under Linux. You can use it to configure and parameterise the lighting without having to rely on an additional Windows computer.
This is an invaluable advantage not at least for time-critical processes. Only a USB cable connection to the DLC is still necessary. Depending on the configuration, the DLC Server provides three protocols for communication with the lighting controller: WebUI, TCP-API or Modbus TCP-API. The DLC server itself is set up using vcwin.
