pictor^®: HIGH-PERFORMANCE IMAGE PROCESSING PLUS POWERFUL DATA-MATRIX-CODE- READER MODULE

The new Data-Matrix-Code-Reader software module for the pictor® series of complex machine vision systems allows image data to be processed for machine vision while also reading even limited-quality, low-contrast data matrix codes fast and reliably without the need to preset any parameters.

The M16xx und M18xx series of pictor® is now available either for immediate delivery with the new Data-Matrix-Code-Reader software module or as retrofitted upgrades. This enables users to handle the machine vision tasks solved by pictor® while simultaneously reading data matrix codes. The optionally offered software module automatically reads data matrix codes with no presetting of any parameters.

The code reader remains highly reliable even when reading mirrored data-matrix codes and with different numbers and sizes of modules. Twisted and distorted codes are compensated and the presented code is reliably interpreted. Moreover, the intelligent camera pictor® reads even hidden parts of the code, such as e.g. invisible "L"s or covered marginal zones. Needled codes on widely varying materials are also "decoded" accurately. Poorly focused images and background disturbances do not influence reading accuracy or speed.
